'Burgundy Lace' is a new ornamental cultivar of European Filbert. This small disease resistant tree arrived on the scene in 2015, and has been gaining popularity ever since. The emerging purple foliage has heavily serrated, almost lace-like edges. The leaves eventually mature to purplish dark green, while leaves near the shoot tips continue to display purple tones into late summer. Edible nuts may be produced if a different Filbert is planted nearby (ideal compatible varieties are Felix and Theta)
