Grown for attractive foliage and edible fruit. Produces grape-sized, smooth skinned green fruits late summer to early fall. Slightly sweeter and smaller than regular grocery store types. May be eaten skin and all like a grape. Fast growing and self-pollinating. 'Issai' is a hermaphroditic cultivar (perfect flowers) which does not need a separate male pollinator for fruit production.
